2017 is a big year for Glasser and Glasser, as it marks our 85th year serving our diverse clientele.  Our firm was founded in 1932 by Bernard Glasser.  At the height of the Great Depression, some of his clients were only able to pay for his legal services with corn or pecans.  As the years passed, he was joined by his sons Richard and Michael, and many other talented attorneys and staff. We’ve come a long way from our beginnings, still our current building is very near where it all began.

Glasser and Glasser employs hundreds of people who take pride in the quality of work the firm provides to our clients.

Rachel E. VanHorn has been selected to the 2017 Virginia Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.

Anders T. Sleight has been nominated and selected for membership in the George Mason chapter of the American Inns of Court, which is a nationwide assocation of lawyers and judges who gather for monthly dinner meetings devoted to professional development.

The firm’s employees and attorneys volunteered their time and raised money for a number of causes throughout the year including, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Legal Food Frenzy campaign, and Soles4Souls organization.

In support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s “Over the Edge” event, Glasser partner Mark Groves volunteered to rappel down a 200 foot building while the firm’s other attorneys and employees rallied to the cause by raising $2,000 towards granting wishes for children with life threatening medical conditions. NARCA made an additional $1,000 donation to the Foundation on behalf of Glasser and Glasser in recognition of their 2013 Community Service Award.

Groves noted “The Make-A-Wish foundation touches the hearts of many and several of our employees have gone on to receive additional “Wish Granter” training and participated in other events. The foundation brings out the best in people and we are proud to support it and other good causes for our community.”

In addition to its work with the foundation, Glasser and Glasser once again competed in the 7th annual Virginia Legal Food Frenzy campaign, raising donations of canned-goods and cash in support of local homeless shelters and food banks. Firm employees also volunteered their time at the food bank to help pack and distribute meals.
